Bishop’s Castle has been awarded “Walkers are Welcome” status. So it’s official, Bishop’s Castle is a great place for walkers.

Welcome to the bc ring web site.

The bc ring (sometimes known as the Bishop’s Castle Ring) is a  new 62 mile (100km), long distance footpath encirling the historic market town of Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire. It was developed by local experienced walkers who live in Bishop’s Castle and who know the area intimately.

Bishop’s Castle is in the heart of a beautiful walking area of the South Shropshire Hills, bordering an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, between Ludlow and Shrewsbury.

The walk is divided into five sections of around twelve miles each. There is no need to carry a heavy rucksack as we recommend you stay in Bishop’s Castle area and check with your accommodation provider who may be able to arrange transport to/from the starting/finish point  each day.

Mentioned in BBC’s Countryfile magazine, May 2012. Bishop’s Castle Weekender
